![]() ![]() It said it downloaded the whole playlist, but it only downloaded 24hrs worth.Īdditionally, downloaded files always act weird. They do let you download playlists, so I added all my music to a single playlist called "all music" and it still limited me. So if your library exceeds 24 hrs in runtime, you're somewhat left hung out to dry. Well for one Plexamp limits your downloads to a 24hr block of music. I don't have a problem with the 24-hour limit myself, but I only keep a couple of dozen albums and a few playlists downloaded to my primary phone, and those are just in case my cell connection is shoddy on the road or if the home server is down the downloads are just a backup to my streaming. ![]() I use downloads for long roadtrips, and for keeping audiobooks on my old iPhone so that I don't kill my primary phone when listening to books while fishing. I'd offer you a trial of my server to see if downloading is going to work they way you want on a device, but a fairly recent change means that I can no longer grandfather in downloads for non-Plex Pass accounts that I add to my home. Can you stand to download all albums individually or create some 24-hour playlists to bounce between? Perhaps some that auto-update every time you go back to home wifi such that your phone has some songs removed from its downloads and some more more added to replace those, based on your own set parameters (such as ratings or if they've been listened to recently or not)? If you can, then Plexamp is going to work for you. In regards to comments you and others have had about 24-hour limits, just be honest with yourself about how you like to enjoy your library. Streaming music from your server, or even transcoding music, is practically nothing to a modern computer in terms of resources. What are the limitations of offline music syncing via Plexamp? I was looking around and saw that there's a 24(?) hour limit - is that the total amount of storage you can have at once? I only need to sync 100GB maximum at any given time.ĭoes the mobile Plexamp app offer support for scrobbling to Last.fm? ![]() I don't mind paying for a Plex Pass since it'd still be cheaper than my current streaming subscription, but is this the most cost-effective way to do what I want to do if I don't plan on getting much use out of the additional features Plexamp offers? of my current files? I'd prefer to keep using MusicBee for listening and tagging music on my PC and just point Plexamp to the location of my current library for syncing purposes. I'm just looking for an easy way to take my music with me without a streaming connection.Īm I correct in understanding that if I get a Plex Pass I can use Plexamp to move music to my iPhone?Ĭan I set up Plexamp on my PC without affecting any of the metadata etc. I'd rather not do this because 1) most of my library are FLAC files and 2) I think iTunes sucks. My issue is that while MusicBee does basically everything I could need from a music player on my computer, it seems I'd need to download iTunes in order to move my music to my phone (current gen iPhone SE if that's relevant). I'm trying to move back to building up my own music library rather than relying on streaming, and I'm now at the point where I'm ready to ditch my Spotify subscription. ![]()
